Also, I really appreciate 1 day a month company day that started during pandemic but we have stick with it as employees appreciate it a lot. Virtual first perk on top of good compensation is a great addition. I believe dropbox does something right w.r.t their hiring process to weed out candidates that do not align with dropbox values. You would invariably work with smart colleagues who are not only technically good but also good to work with - Almost all engineers I have interacted with are humble, collaborative yet technically sound. I've been here 2 years now and can't see myself leaving anytime soon. It also makes me care more about the time I'm putting in because of course I only wanna do the work that leads to actual positive impact! I loathe busy work so that was cool to see that leadership agrees that work should show results, not just be an 8-hour daily habit for no reason. We've also recently pivoted towards performance reviews based on impact and I think that's ideal for the remote world because it's less about how many hours you put in and more about how productive you are and how you make the best use of your time. Your work day is really flexible based on how you work (if you're a night owl, if you have kids, etc.), which has been awesome because it makes me feel trusted and really lessens the stress of having life stuff pop up. I also have really good work/life balance, which makes it possible for me to show up with energy and still feel like I've got time for the things I care about.

I feel psychologically safe, which is the #1 most important factor for me because it enables me to do my best work. I chose to work here because of the amazing community.
